"But first, let's pray": How The King & The Code Prepares for Ministrations

If you have ever attended a live stage play by The King & The Code, you know we do not just put on a show - our goal is to communicate the Word of God using visual arts. That is why we prepare our productions with the spiritual understanding that we are creating an environment for a divine encounter between God and His people.

As a creative arts ministry, our mission is to preach the message of Jesus Christ through visual arts, a powerful yet unconventional way to reach the world. And for a ministry like ours, spiritual preparation is just as crucial as the creative process itself.

The spiritual codes that made the first ever play a resounding success

For our first ever ministration, The King & The Code: Christmas Edition 2025, the team did much more than just rehearse lines and perfect choreography. We sought God first.

Before the lights, the costumes, or the stage design, we fasted, prayed, and studied Scripture together. Why? Because we believe that true impact comes from alignment with God's will - and the enemy was not going to just watch us do great things for Jesus.

Bible Study

Our preparation included extensive Bible studies of the story we were going to tell, in this case, the birth of Jesus Christ. This is where we dove deep into the Word, ensuring that every scene, every song, and every moment on stage was rooted in Truth.

The Lord's Supper

We also held the Lord's supper, to both empower our ministration by the blood of Jesus, as well as to strengthen our unity as a team. In a ministry that uses creativity and organic chemistry as tools, a united spirit is non-negotiable.

Fasting & Prayer

And then there were the days we fasted and prayed. The first were before we started writing the script, and then immediately after the script was complete. This is not just a tradition, it is a spiritual reset.

After this, we began praying for the production ahead of us as well as every single soul that would attend the live play. We kept praying for the people who came to watch the play, up until the very night before opening night. We saw the fruits with many people giving their lives to Christ after an altar call by our lead pastor, Pastor Tony Osborn Kapola, at the end of the last show. And this is why we pray - for souls to be saved.

The ministry preparing spiritually before opening night

We believed that to tell a story about God's love and power, we had to experience it for ourselves first. Fasting sharpened our focus, spiritual sensitivity and discernment. Prayer deepened our dependence on Him, and worship reminded us that this work is not ours, but His.

Why go through all this for a stage play?

Because The King & The Code is not just about entertainment. It is a creative arts ministry. We use visual arts, music, and storytelling to draw people closer to Jesus in a way they might not experience in a traditional church setting. And in a world where visual arts are often overlooked as a tool for evangelism, we take our responsibility seriously.

Because at the end of the day, we are not just putting on a play. We are preaching the Gospel!
